Before Jim Abbott, there was Hugh Daily

You know, you don't see too many one-armed no-hitters these days. The list in the last century or so is basically just Jim Abbott. But 128 years ago today, Hugh "One Arm" Daily sent down 27 Philadelphia Quakers without allowing a hit.

Daily, by the way, lost his left hand in a gun accident, once punched his own catcher and was "popular with the home crowds because of his verbal tirades against umpires and opposing players alike."

Possibly even more impressive than the no-hitter is that Daily also registered three games in the outfield, two at second, and one at shortstop during his career.
