Big Papi took some time out of Tuesday's game to celebrate his son's birthday
D'Angelo Ortiz, son of Red Sox DH David Ortiz, turns nine years old Wednesday. Big Papi definitively earned his nickname in celebrating the occasion.
In addition to having D'Angelo tag along on his team's trip to Seattle, Big Papi had his son take batting practice and stretch with the rest of the squad.
Between the third and fourth innings of Tuesday's game, Papi even brought a birthday cake (complete with lit candles) over to where his son was sitting, and the whole thing was just way too adorable for us to handle.
"It was fun," Ortiz told MLB.com. My son is a big fan of mine and he loves to come and watch me play."
