Ben Revere becomes the Piano Man
It was noon on a Thursday. The Phillies announced that Billy Joel would be returning to Citizens Bank Park on Aug. 13 for a venue-record fourth time. To celebrate, the Phanatic and center fielder Ben Revere brought out a miniature piano and immediately commenced jammin'.
The Phanatic said, "Ben, can you play me a memory?"
So, Revere played him the memory of his first Major League home run that came after more than 1,500 at bats:
It was just what the Phanatic needed. He was in the mood for a melody, and Revere had him feeling all right:
The National League leader in hits last season looked right at home at the piano. You might say he made it sound like a carnival.
