Bo knows birthdays: Two-sport star turns the big 5-0

A man of mythical, Paul Bunyan-esque power, Bo Jackson played eight Major League seasons with the Royals, White Sox and Angels between 1986 and '94. He was an All-Star in '89, cracking a 448-foot home run in his first at-bat and throwing out Harold Reynolds from roughly the same distance ... on the fly.
Sure, Bo was a skilled ballplayer (he also played a little bit of football), but it was more the Alabama native's pure athleticism and raw strength that wowed us. You know, breaking bats over his head, running parallel to the ground and hitting home runs whenever he felt the need.
So, we'd like to wish a happy birthday to Bo as he turns 50 years old on Friday. His immense skill, charm and overall presence brought so much to the sporting world.
But then again, we don't have to tell Bo. Bo knows.
