Before the World Series, Boston statues are wearing Red Sox jerseys (and beards, too)

With Game 1 of the World Series getting started in Boston on Wednesday night, it seems like the entire city is showing its support of the Red Sox. And that doesn't just include its flesh-and-blood inhabitants. Some of its most famous bronze denizens are getting in on it too:

Starting close to the team's home, there's the suddenly hirsute statue of Ted Williams outside Fenway Park, which of course didn't require an added Sox jersey:

Then there's the Paul Revere statue on Hanover Street, which we understand rode through the streets of Boston to alert the townsfolk that the Redbirds were coming, and has sprouted a bushy beard that almost puts Mike Napoli to shame:

The George Washington statue in the Public Garden (who might be waiting to replace his wooden teeth with grills from the same jeweler that provided Big Papi's earrings):

And finally, the "Make Way For Ducklings" statues on the other side of the Public Garden, the nine of which could, and now probably will, be inspired to field a full baseball team:
