Breaking balls: Mets pitch shatters glass, Twins foul destroys laptop

Tuesday night gave new meaning to the term "breaking ball" across Major League Baseball. What's going on here?
At Citi Field, Gary Green, CEO of the Class AAA Omaha Storm Chasers, threw a memorable first pitch to begin the Mets' game against the White Sox. It wasn't a terrible throw -- if you don't ask the glass that shielded a home-plate camera.
Those who can't do, teach. Those who can't play, run the front office.
Later, up in Boston, Justin Morneau caused some expensive damage of his own. The Twins first baseman hit a hard foul into the photographer's well next to the Red Sox dugout, busting a laptop's screen.
What makes this particularly surreal for me is that the computer in question is the exact ThinkPad model I'm using right now. I keep glancing over my shoulder, paranoid that Moreau might hit another one all the way to Cut4 headquarters.
When good balls go bad, is anyone safe?
