Brett Gardner doesn't change between doubleheader games, hits triple wearing dirty uniform

Brett Gardner hits triple wearing dirty uniform

Ballplayers are superstitious by nature. Baseball is a fickle mistress who bestows her favor and disdain in equal measures. All the World Series rings in the world can't protect you from her whims

After the Yankees won the first game of Sunday's doubleheader against the Pirates, Brett Gardner went into the second covered in dirt, presumably because he didn't want to change his uniform and risk the goddess of fortune mistaking him for Brian McCann or something.

Gardner tripled in his first at-bat in the dirty uniform, but shortly after he was picked off by Chris Stewart, which is a really passive aggressive way for the baseball fates to tell you to put on a clean shirt.
