This is getting ridiculous: New White Sox 3B Brett Lawrie is pulling off insane box jumps now

Lawrie the next to pull off crazy box jump

Dear stars and freakish athletes of Major League Baseball,

We get it, guys. The winter is dark and full of terrors -- namely, things that are not baseball. After months spent running around on green grass, it's tough to be holed up inside for these cold months. It's important to both stay in shape and stay sane.

Given that the offseason struggle is real, we were willing to look the other way when Bryce Harper made a mockery of a 55-inch stack of boxes. So too with Steven Souza, who upped the ante  to 58 inches. But now, Brett Lawrie has gotten into the act with a mind-boggling 64-inch leap mere hours before he was traded to the White Sox, and we must take a collective stand:

UPDATE (12/11/15): Lawrie realized his real competition was himself, and leapt a truly ridiculous 66 inches:

Look at the pride he takes in such senseless destruction.

For a refresher (and because we know you want to see them again), here's Harper's jump from two days ago:

And Souza's from Tuesday:

This must end, or else there will be no gym equipment left unjumped over. Are surf rack curls no longer enough?
