Brook Lopez's pre-playoff workout: tossing a first pitch for the Yanks
The Brooklyn Nets' Brook Lopez made the trip up to Yankee Stadium to toss out the first pitch before Thursday night's contest with the D-backs. With the NBA playoffs looming, Lopez was able to enjoy a relaxing night at the ballpark before the Nets face the Chicago Bulls in the first round.
While Brook normally fills his days with slam dunks and blocked shots, he has baseball in his blood. His father, Heriberto Lopez, played professional baseball in Cuba, while uncle Marcelino Lopez enjoyed an 8-year career as a Major League pitcher.
"I played little league and everything," Lopez said. "I think I picked basketball to play early on, but I always loved playing baseball ... definitely a passion of mine."
As much as we'd love to see him in stirrups, we think Brook made the right choice.
