Brooklyn Cyclones immortalize imaginary baseball star Sidd Finch with bobblehead

MiLB promo honors imaginary ballplayer Sidd Finch

The evil geniuses behind "Saved by the Bell Night" and "Salute to Seinfeld Night" are back with another promotion that will hit you right in the feels.

On August 26, the Brooklyn Cyclones will honor the 30th anniversary of Sports Illustrated's April Fools' hoax involving imaginary prospect Sidd Finch.

In the April 1, 1985 issue of SI, George Plimpton penned a lengthy feature focusing on a fictional Mets pitching prospect named Sidd Finch. Finch was purported to be a lanky right-handed hurler who could throw 168 mph.

For that August 26 game, the first 2,500 fans through the gates will get a Sidd Finch bobblehead, but the celebration hardly ends there.

Here are some of the other events planned for the night:

- The National Anthem will be performed by a French Horn player.
- To celebrate Sidd's "mastery of mind & body" -- fans will be invited to participate in pre-game Yoga on the field.
- A speed pitch competition in which fans will be given three attempts to match Sidd's 168 mph fastball…combined.
- Anyone named Sidd will be able to receive a discounted bleacher ticket for $1.68. (Valid Only at MCU Park Box Office, While Supplies Last)
- In honor of Sidd's time spent in Cambridge, anyone wearing a Harvard T-shirt will be able to jump to the head of the class and run the bases before everyone else after the game.
