Bryce Harper pinch-hits in softball game on the National Mall
You'll probably recognize the Washington softball circuit's latest phenom. Hint: He has a bro-hawk.
Spending his first Major League off-day on the National Mall, Bryce Harper just couldn't resist taking a few hacks for the Alliance to Save Energy in their slow-pitch game against the World Wildlife Fund.
Assuming his familiar chicken-winged lefty stance, the Nationals rookie took a couple pitches -- good to see that veteran approach at the plate -- before cutting and missing once and then skying a fly ball to right field.
Does accepting pinch-hit contributions during a softball campaign jeopardize the ASE's nonprofit status? If so, totally worth it.
