Bucky Dent's son is following the family tradition of tormenting the Red Sox

You may recall, if you live in New England or have ever had a conversation with someone from New England, that Bucky Dent is not a beloved name among Red Sox fans.

Infamous in Beantown for his go-ahead, three-run home run in the 1978 AL East division playoff game, Dent's legacy as a player is often tied to that surprising and backbreaking home run.

His son, Cody Dent, is a shortstop for the Auburn Doubledays -- a Single-A affiliate of the Nationals -- and on Wednesday, he took up the Dent mantle of driving Red Sox fans insane.

Taylor Grover, a Sox farmhand in Single-A Lowell, came into the ninth inning with the goal of protecting not just a Spinners lead but a perfect game as well -- fellow pitchers Jamie Callahan and Mike Adams combined for eight perfect innings and 11 strikeouts, with Callahan dealing six of those innings himself.

After getting the first out in the ninth, Grover faced Cody Dent. Dent, aided by his genes and family name, slapped that ball to center field, ending the Spinners' shot at a perfect game and presumably causing thousands of fans in Lowell to say, "Wait, his last name is Dent? Oh, come on!"
