Torres kicks grounder to Murphy, beats runner to 1B
Not too long ago, the Nationals played some pinball to pull off a 3-4-1 putout for the ages, leaving a nation to wonder how anyone could possibly top the sheer volume of luck/awesomeness involved. Well, it turns out we didn't have to wonder for very long, because reliever Carlos Torres and the Mets are here to fill the hole in our hearts:

For those keeping score, take a deep breath, because here we go: Torres gets his foot in front of a Jeff Francoeur grounder, sparking a Yakety Sax-style succession of events -- the ball deflects to first baseman Daniel Murphy, who makes a nice diving stab and immediately flips to Torres, who somehow beats Francoeur to the bag for your run-of-the-mill 1-3-1 putout. Just like they do it in Spring Training.
