Carter Capps has some serious hops. Like, SERIOUS hops

Carter Capps has some serious hops

When I tell you that Carter Capps has serious hops, I'm not kidding. And I don't mean them in the "He is great at dunking a basketball way" (though given that he's 6-foot-5, he probably can), and I don't mean that he is a voracious home brewer who is currently in the middle of a batch of Belgian-style double IPA (though he very well could be). No, what I mean is that Capps literally leaps while pitching. Just take a look:

That's the kind of hop that looks like Capps is merely a drawing on an animation cell and he's been shifted. Like he's Poochie or something.

Just compare it to that other reliever known for his jumping abilities: Jordan Walden. Capps' hop makes Walden look like he's wearing concrete boots.

Turns out, Capps' anti-gravity delivery recently gave him some problems. While making his 2015 debut with Triple-A New Orleans on April 9, the home plate umpire waved off Capps' first two pitches as balls, saying that his foot had disengaged from the rubber too soon.

Fortunately, after talking to Major League Baseball, the Marlins reliever was given the all clear on his electric-slide like ways. As Capps said:

"They just said they wanted me to make sure I dragged my foot and not get too elevated in the air, and make sure it's more on a lateral plane."

I guess that means we won't be seeing any sweet 360 jams/pitches any time soon. Which is a real shame.
