Chase Utley: Starting All-Star Second Baseman/Dog Whisperer
Chase Utley is a lot of things. For starters, he's a baseball player (and a good one at that). He's a six-time All-Star who will start at second base for the National League in this year's mid-summer classic. Utley is a four-time Silver Slugger award winner, a husband to his wife Jen and a loving father to his son Ben. He's also an animal lover.
Before Saturday's Nationals-Phillies game at Citizens Bank Park, Utley and his pit bull rescue, Jack, were hanging out on the field while little Ben Utley threw some bullets in a game of fetch. The heartwarming moment was, itself, an effort to promote the 2014-'15 Phillies Pet Calendar, which aims to aide the Utleys in their charitable work with the SPCA.
If that doesn't make you "aww," you should consult a professional immediately because you might not have a soul.
