Chipper appreciates the Yankees' interest, but would rather continue being a bad golfer

Chipper Jones served as a Braves' special instructor earlier this spring, making people wonder if he would get the itch to play ball again.
Jones brushed off the speculation as pure silliness then, and he's doing it again now, in the wake of the news that Yankees GM Brian Cashman may be interested in luring the Braves legend out of retirement to serve as Mark Teixeira's fill-in.
Jones' agent has given some very well-reasoned, articulate agent-like responses to media inquiries, but thanks to social media, there are other ways to pick Jones' brain on the matter. Who needs a go-between? Just follow the man himself on Twitter:
Enough with the rumors! While I am flattered about the speculation of being enticed out of retirement, I'm happy with life as a bad golfer!

Derek Jeter also chimed in on the possible pick-up:
Derek Jeter's response to Cashman's interest in @realcj10: "Unless we have a golf team, I don't think there's a reason to call him up."

Case closed. (We think.)
