Chivalry is dead: Man flees flying bat, leaving companion to fend for herself

Astros outfielder J.D. Martinez lost his bat during Monday's second inning, sending the lumber flying into the stands. This fan made sure he wasn't anywhere near where the flying projectile landed, but there was one problem: He forgot to tell his date.

Now, she proved more than capable of protecting herself, deflecting the bat with her arm while he fled to the relative safety of the aisle. But I'm pretty sure one of the traditional couple-y duties - or even the duty of any one human to another -- is to make sure rogue baseball bats don't come flying at your significant other.
