C.J. Wilson was emotionally spent this weekend because of 'Game of Thrones'

Wilson admits being emotionally drained by 'GoT'

In the wake of "Orange Is The New Black" Season 3 hitting Netflix in full, Don Draper's recent departure from our televisions and the second season premiere of "True Detective" right around the corner, now's as good of a time as any to discuss the serious ramifications of BWTF, or binge-watching television fatigue.

We've all been there: chasing Heisenberg down a rabbit hole, firing up the next episode of "Friday Night Lights" at 2:32 a.m. on a Wednesday because you NEED to know if Dillon wins State, racing through an entire season of "Entourage" to figure out whether Vince is gonna do the movie ...

Viewers experience the ups and downs with their favorite characters and pitcher C.J. Wilson is no different.

After his seven-inning, two-hit, eight-strikeout gem for the Angels on Saturday, Wilson admitted that he was worried he wouldn't be able to relax out on the mound because he had spent the morning binge-watching "Game of Thrones" with his wife:

"I watched the last episode of 'Game Of Thrones' today and I was really drained," Wilson said. "It was very up and down. I was very worried it wasn't going to turn out well for Daenerys Targaryen. My wife and I are big fans of her. Part of my routine is to spend time with the wife and the dogs. Usually it relaxes me, but today it was like, 'Oh man.'"

Yup. That really happened. C.J. Wilson was worried he would be pitching on tilt in an MLB game because of the drama unfolding in Westeros. If he's going to pitch like that after marathoning intense television shows, someone should tape the guy's eyes open in front of "The Wire" before his next start.
