This might be a first: Couple married on Little League field

On Saturday, Tim Raymond and Stefanie Turgeon of Meriden, Conn. got married at the place where they first laid eyes on each other: Ed Walsh Little League Field. The couple met there two years ago, watching their sons play ball.

We've seen weddings at Major League ballparks before, but never on a Little League field. As described by the Meriden Record-Journal, the ceremony sounds legitimately adorable:

White chairs were set up on the freshly cut grass. An aisle that began at the second base line was lined with wooden baseball bats with sunflowers hanging from them. A white pergola with flowers laced through it rested at home plate ... the brass wedding band wore red Ed Walsh Little League T-shirts and hats.

Take note, wedding planners. The average cost of a wedding in the United States is $28,400. The average cost of admission to a Little League game is... probably free? Math (and a blood sacrifice to Nate Silver) tell us that this is an empirically perfect venue.

Bridemaids can't agree on a dress? These one-size-fits-all catcher's helmets will flatter everyone. Feuding families? Seat them in separate dugouts. And instead of stockpiling fish, chicken, beef and veggie lasagna, we'll be be serving hot dogs. Oh, you don't like hot dogs? May we interest you in a bun with some ketchup on it instead?
