Courageous teen Jack Jablonski throws out first pitch at Target Field

Do you believe in miracles? Jack "Jabby" Jablonski knows a thing or two about them.

Last December, the Minnesota teenager suffered a severe spinal injury while playing hockey. Doctors were skeptical in their original prognosis, but with support from friends and family and through his own drive and determination, Jablonski is on the road to recovery. On Monday night, he threw out the first pitch before the Twins-Yanks game at Target Field.

"It's a dream come true to be able to accomplish all these things and meet all these people who I looked up to when I was playing these sports," Jablonski said. "It's definitely mind-blowing."

The Twins Wives Organization also donated $10,000 on Monday to the Jack Jablonski Fund.

"We decided we needed to do something to give back," Alisha Perkins (wife of Twins reliever Glen) said. "[Jack's story] just brought Minnesota as a community together."

Because of his courage and inpiration to others, Jablonski has been nominated as one of eight finalists for the CBS Courage in Sports Awards. For more information on his story or to vote for the Minnesota native, visit Jabby13.com.
