Cubs fan re-gifts missed foul ball to young Marlins fan

Cubs fan re-gifts foul ball to young Marlins fan

"Tis the season for giving" doesn't usually refer to early June, but that's exactly what time of year it is at Wrigley Field, where the Cubs played host to the Marlins on Sunday.

In the top of the fifth with one out and the bases empty, Marlins outfielder Marcell Ozuna fouled a pitch deep down the right-field line. One Cubs fan did his best to belly up to the brick and snag the ball, but dropped it back into play.

Cubs right fielder Nate Schierholtz was kind enough to scoop up the ball and toss it back into the crowd, where it was received by a Marlins fan. Upon catching the ball, the Marlins fan turned to the still-dejected Cubs fan behind him, offering him the souvenir.

Shortly after accepting the gift, the Cubs fan regains his composure and re-gifts the souvenir to a young Marlins fan, presumably the son of the Marlins fan who originally gained possession of the foul ball.
