The Cubs found a very special guest to sing 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame': Their grounds crew

Cubs grounds crew sings 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame'

Wrigley Field has seen many different renditions of "Take Me Out to the Ballgame": Football coaches, actorsactual musicians and Osbournes (though, admittedly, that's stretching what's considered "a rendition").

But Monday night's Royals-Cubs game brought things a little closer to home -- the Cubs' grounds crew got a crack at leading the crowd during the seventh-inning stretch. And, though with great musical tradition comes great responsibility, they managed to check all the necessary boxes.

First, they worked the crowd (and, importantly, avoided any and all jinxes/curses) like savvy veterans with an "our team is in the postseason!" Then the organ began to play, and their dulcet tones stirred the souls of even the eldest Cubbies:

If they looked like they'd had some practice in the fan anthem department, it's because this wasn't the grounds crew's first rodeo. They had the honor of leading the crowd last year, too.

Chicago even walked off with a 1-0 win, so the team might want to book that gig from now til, say, the end of October. You know, just to be safe.
