Curtis Granderson started an Instagram account that's all about Lucas Duda
Granderson follows Duda to run new Instagram account
Almost in the way researchers might plant live feeds in the jungle to capture images of a rare big cat, several Mets players have created an outpost for pictures of Lucas Duda for fans wishing to learn more about their secretive slugger.
The makeshift team of Curtis Granderson, John Mayberry Jr. and recently recalled infielder Danny Muno started an Instagram account this week called @WeFollowLucasDuda. The premise is simple: to post candid and endearing photos of the soft-spoken, often stoic Duda doing everyday things. So far, it's been a huge hit.
Granderson, Mayberry and Muno started the account Saturday by posting a photo of Duda ominously staring down at his socks before a game. By Sunday afternoon, the account had more than 11,000 followers and eight photos to feed the growing demand.
What you'll get from WeFollowLucasDuda: Duda eating, Duda smiling in front of flowers, Duda walking to his car. You know, all the things that make Duda, well, Duda-y. And so much more Dudaness.
"We follow Duda daily," reads the page's bio. But now that Duda knows about the account, its founders are wondering if they can keep that promise.
"It all depends on if we can catch him," Granderson said.
