Denard Span hit an inside-the-parker as George Springer desperately tried to pick up a baseball

Through 14 Major League games since getting the call-up from the Astros, outfielder George Springer has batted just .182 and has yet to hit his first Big League home run. But, it's not for a lack of trying. Springer has been busting his hump in right field and Wednesday night's game against the Nationals was no exception.

When Denard Span lined a ball into the gap, Springer tore toward the hill in Houston's outfield, sliding to put himself in a better position to fire a strike back to the infield. The problem? He forgot to make sure he secured the ball before making the turn. And then he neglected to do so twice, thrice as Span circled the bases for a Little League-style homer.

Well, that, or David Blaine was at Minute Maid Park on Wednesday to test out a new trick illusion.

Springer Outfield

Span was credited with a triple on the play, as Springer was charged with his fifth error of the year. Chin up, pal. It gets better.
