Jim Leyland celebrated Motown Night with a nifty moonwalk
Motown was a revolutionary record label in Detroit famous for its development of countless soul legends and chart-topping hits. With a stable of artists including The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, the Jackson 5 and a famed group of studio musicians dubbed "The Funk Brothers," the label's trademark "Motown sound" remains a popular and familiar cultural touchstone.
On Saturday, the Tigers held Motown Night to celebrate the legacy of that famous Detroit institution. As part of the pregame ceremony, the team played a video of Marvin Gaye's performance of the national anthem from the 1968 World Series.
And, of course, no celebration of Motown would be truly complete without some Michael Jackson impersonators:
