Diehard Mets fan Ty Burrell throws out first pitch

Actor Ty Burrell, best known for his role as loveable dad Phil Dunphy on ABC's Modern Family, has been a Mets fan ever since he lived in Queens for 12 years.

"My wife and I fell in love with the Mets when we noticed that ... everybody in Queens was wearing Yankees hats," Burrell explained. "They [needed] our two heads to have Mets caps on them."

Don't let Burrell's celebrity status fool you -- he's a true fan, chatting excitedly about Matt Harvey's phenomenal season and the upcoming debut of Zack Wheeler. Saturday marked his first time throwing the ceremonial first pitch at a professional ballgame, and he admitted he was nervous.

"I don't want [John Buck] to go chase my ball," he said, before delivering a perfect pitch.
