Blue Jays analyst Dirk Hayhurst live-tweeted a crazy cabbie hit-and-run

Former Major League pitcher and current Blue Jays analyst Dirk Hayhurst was en route to Yankee Stadium to cover today's Bombers-Blue Jays doubleheader when his taxi suffered a minor delay:
My cab just got into an accident…unreal
- Dirk Hayhurst (@TheGarfoose) August 20, 2013
This, however, was only the beginning of an insane, high-speed, adrenaline-soaked adventure:
Holy… cabby just ran from the accident. We are seriously being chased by the car he hit!!!!!!
- Dirk Hayhurst (@TheGarfoose) August 20, 2013
Jesus I gotta get out of this cab. Car he hit, now on the side of us on freeway screaming "I'm gonna wreck you! Stop!"
- Dirk Hayhurst (@TheGarfoose) August 20, 2013
So many laws violated right now. I can't believe this is really happening….
- Dirk Hayhurst (@TheGarfoose) August 20, 2013
Taxi 5n57! He has made his getaway and swears "he crazy, is just a scratch"
- Dirk Hayhurst (@TheGarfoose) August 20, 2013
At that point, Hayhurst felt the need to reaffirm the fact that this was all completely and totally real:
Seriously. I know this is twitter, but I'm not making any of this up. Just swerved off highway, lost the chasing car, cabby says "we safe"
- Dirk Hayhurst (@TheGarfoose) August 20, 2013
It all turned out well, though -- relatively speaking:
In there. I'm safe. Things are okay. Really crazy there for about 5 high speed minutes. Annnnd all for a flat rate of $40.
- Dirk Hayhurst (@TheGarfoose) August 20, 2013
Best part was when my cabby says, "he mad because some cabbies very bad, give for us all bad reputations" while running a redlight to escape
- Dirk Hayhurst (@TheGarfoose) August 20, 2013
Wait -- $40?!?! He paid the driver!?
Of course I paid the driver! 2 reasons: 1-he'd run me over if I didn't. 2-the company is reimbursing me anyway ;-)
- Dirk Hayhurst (@TheGarfoose) August 20, 2013
Hayhurst also tweeted a wholly remarkable Vine of the two drivers arguing and -- well, it's pretty intense. Here's the link, but beware of strong language some readers may find offensive.
