Don't Call Him Daughter, Stone Gossard brings it

Pearl Jam guitarist, environmentalist and sports fan Stone Gossard threw out the first pitch at Safeco Field before the Mariners took on the Rangers Saturday night.

The Mariners hosted a Forterra Night, which is a Washington-based environmental organization that Gossard has been working with. Forterra started C3 (Carbon Capturing Companies) and Gossard explained: “we basically put trees back in the ground to mitigate carbon that Pearl Jam puts up in the air when we tour.”

For every ticket that was sold to Saturday night’s game through a special online offer, the Mariners will donate a seedling to C3.
