It's time to vote for the best MLB-related social media post of the year

Vote for the best MLB social media post of the year

Never before has it been so easy for the common fan to communicate with professional athletes, and never before has it been so easy for professional athletes to communicate with the common fan. This is the reality social media has rendered possible in 2015. Now it's time to hand out an award for the true pinnacle of this new ballplayer-social-media landscape.

The Esurance MLB Awards are Major League Baseball's way of honoring the greatest achievements from the 2015 season with an industry-wide balloting process. In the Best Social Media Personality category, we're asking you to help decide which Tweet, Vine or Instagram is the one to rule them all.

Check out the nominees below and vote for your favorite here. What other award would pit Noah Syndergaard versus Jerry Seinfeld?

Cubs in their PJs

The Cubs were already planning to make the trip back home from Los Angeles in appropriate late-night attire, but Jake Arrieta went ahead and threw a no-hitter right before they left. So, Chicago tweeted out a few shots of the team celebrating in their very best sleepover-ready pajamas -- including the man of the hour decked out in a fly mustache onesie.

Cueto introduces himself to K.C.

Following Johnny Cueto's Kauffman Stadium debut -- a four-hit, eight-strikeout shutout -- his new teammates gave him the customary shower. And the team photographer took what might be the most well-timed photo in Instagram history.

Dickey takes a joyride

There's picking on the rookie during Spring Training, and then there's joyriding the rookie's van/home onto the diamond during Spring Training, which is exactly what R.A. Dickey did with then-Blue Jay rookie Daniel Norris' live-in VW. And then, of course, he tweeted about it. Well done, Dickey. Well done.

Dee Gordon reveals the truth

One of the foremost uses of social media is to speak truth to power. Dee Gordon took that pretty literally, taking to Twitter to show the world the truth about Giancarlo Stanton's candy bar eating habits. Gotta be honest, though -- Stanton doesn't look too concerned about eating that Kit Kat whole.

Bryce Harper selfie!!!!!

OK, enough about that speaking truth to power thing. You know what the real use of social media is for? Selfies. An infinite amount of selfies. Bryce Harper knows this, so he called for fans to throw down their cell phones to right field so he could take a selfie of his own.

Giants fan goes swimming

You know why Vine was made? To perfectly capture the moment this Giants fan decided he was going to jump into McCovey Cove after Joe Panik launched a homer out of AT&T Park.

Blue Jays' welcome party

Who says you can't make new friends on Twitter? After David Price learned he's been traded to the Blue Jays at the Trade Deadline, the lefty ace requested as much popcorn as Toronto could fit in his new locker. Despite some car trouble getting Price to the Great North, the Blue Jays obliged his snack-food hankerings

A Cespedes for the rest of us

Jerry Seinfeld was super excited when the Mets traded for Yoenis Cespedes, so he did what one does when experiencing great emotion in the 21st century: He tweeted about it with a '90s television reference.

Syndergaard's movie past

Look, if you're going to tweet at Amy Schumer, you better brace yourself for any number of responses you might get back. Even -- especially -- if you're Mets rookie Noah Syndergaard

Voting will remain open through Nov. 13 at mlb.com/awards. Winners will be announced live on MLB Network and MLB.com on Nov. 20.
