Red Sox fan catches foul ball with one hand, then makes youngster's night

Thursday was a lucky night for Stephen Kelley -- also known as Tall Billy. Kelley, who also works in sales for the Red Sox, was enjoying Game 2 of the World Series at Fenway Park when he took a quick break from the action on the field to check his e-mail.

Pro tip: Don't check your e-mail when David Ortiz is at bat. Ortiz fouled the ball directly towards Kelley, who managed to pull off a one-handed catch. He gave the souvenir to Luke, a young man sitting nearby. Two pitches later, Big Papi homered.

"I've sat there for all 81 games of the regular season plus postseason and we haven't gotten any balls up there. It never happens," Kelley said. "I just stuck my hand out there and luckily I got it. If I didn't, I probably would have gotten a lot of boos throughout the ballpark. Instead, everyone was cheering, which was cool."

For Luke -- who Kelley recognized as a "huge Red Sox fan" he's seen before -- it was his first-ever playoff game. The Arizona native was "scared and excited" when he saw the foul ball coming, but he couldn't be happier to take it home.

"I'm really lucky and it's really awesome," Luke said.
