Fan shows love for Goldy, D-backs in Arlington

As a former Phoenix resident and a rising sophomore at Texas State University, Paige Buffington had two reasons to support former Bobcat Paul Goldschmidt at Rangers Ballpark on Thursday.

But Buffington's D-backs fandom dates far beyond Goldschmidt's debut last season.

“It’s their heart and their passion,” Buffington said. “With the old colors, that was the dream team when they won the World Series, and they've carried it on to these new players.”

Buffington now lives in Austin and made the trip up to Arlington with a friend to see her favorite team.

“We just got tickets today,” she said, “but the sign took two or three nights to finish.”
