Dutch baseball fans travel 5,500 miles to meet their hero, Didi Gregorius
Have you ever traveled a long distance to watch your favorite team play? Spent an hour in the car? Maybe two? Sure.
But would you fly 5,500 miles?
Erick van Woudenberg and his sons Liam and Jayden, diehard Arizona Diamondbacks fans, flew in from the Netherlands last weekend just to cheer on the D-backs in person.
... OK, they're also visiting their grandparents. But the boys might have been even more excited to see their idol, Didi Gregorius, a native of Amsterdam.
With choice seats above the dugout, autographs and authentic Gregorius batting gloves in their possession, the boys will have a happy plane ride home. A long, long, long, happy plane ride home.
