Fellow umps mock Miller with tape outline after foul
Umpires aren't exactly known for their collective sense of humor. Dance skills, maybe. But jokes? Not so much. That might be changing, though, now that Bill Miller has become the butt of the latest "chalk outline" joke.
Miller -- an MLB umpire since 1997 -- took a pitched ball off the knee in the Angels-Giants game on Friday night. When he showed up for work on Saturday, the other umps on his crew had, um, memorialized him with a taped outline on the floor of the umpire's room:
It's funny because Miller turned out to be OK.
