Fernando Rodney remembers father with All-Star tribute
Fernando Rodney, the Rays' 12th different All-Star representative in the past five seasons, got quite emotional when he learned he was headed to the Midsummer Classic for the first time."This is going to be for my dad," Rodney said. "I'd like him to be here with me. We were good friends. We did everything together."
His father, Ulise, died of cancer just days before Rodney's Major League debut in 2002. Ten years later, Rodney paid a fitting tribute by sporting his name on the back of his workout jersey.
