Rodney spends MLK Day with U.S. Army in S. Korea

Fernando Rodney accidentally pulled the ultimate rock star move.
No, we're not talking about trashing a hotel room - we're talking about not showing up to accept your own award. Rodney is set to make such a statement on Wednesday when he'll miss his induction into the West Michigan Whitecaps Hall of Fame ... because he's currently in South Korea visiting with U.S. military troops as part of a USO tour.

Yeah, we're gonna go ahead and call that a pretty awesome excuse. Rodney has been in Korea for a few days now: He visited the Korean team that played in the 2014 Little League World Series and participated in a youth baseball camp, too ... all while gearing up for the Mariners FanFest to take place in Seattle this weekend.
