The Royals finally got to meet Fetty Wap after sneaking '1738' into interviews for weeks
The Royals finally got to meet rapper Fetty Wap
Did you know that the Royals like Fetty Wap? Like, they really, really like him.
Fetty Wap -- he of The Remy Boyz 1738 squad out of New Jersey -- is a professional rapper who's been well represented at MLB parks this season (Joc Pederson, Anthony Rizzo and others have been walking up to his hit "Trap Queen").
But the Royals have taken "well represented" and absolutely dwarfed it with their Fetty Wap fandom. Back in July, Royals players began slipping the numbers 17 and 38 in their post-game interviews. Those who failed to do so paid self-imposed fines.
KC players are fining each other if they don't use "1738" in postgame interviews. I have no idea what it means. Success has driven them mad.

Oh, it has to do with Trap Queen? Then I am fully on board.

On Tuesday, Eric Hosmer and the rest of the Royals fanboy'd out when they got to meet their favorite rapper.
On a scale of 17 to 38, #Royals meeting @fettywap today is definitely a 38. #ForeverRoyal pic.twitter.com/h4t7WqOigM

It's worth noting that, while setup man Wade Davis wears No. 17, there's currently no one on the Royals' 40-man roster currently rocking No. 38.
