First pitch time machine: Proof that Jerry Seinfeld is one of the best at the first pitch
Proof that Seinfeld is one of the best first pitchers
There are few things more entertaining than celebrities throwing bad first pitches.Watching a superstar or head of state sail a ball down the first-base line provides some harmless (and in the case of 50 Cent, hilarious) schadenfreude.

But we don't give nearly enough respect to those who do it well. Today we help turn the tide thanks to Jerry Seinfeld and catching great, Mike Piazza.
Approached by TMZ, Piazza said that Jerry Seinfeld stood out in his memory among celebrity first pitch throwers.
Thanks to the power of video, we have proof of Seinfeld's time on the mound. On May 22, 2005, Seinfeld went out to Shea Stadium to hang with Keith Hernandez and Pedro Martinez, play with the bullpen phone and throw out the first pitch.
Dressed in a classic Marvelous Marv Throneberry jersey, Seinfeld wound up and delivered with a surprising side-armed delivery.

With that brief hesitation before swinging the ball around, his mechanics are somewhat Justin Masterson-esque:
But while Seinfeld knows his way around the mound (and the pressbox), he could brush up on some fundamentals.

Which he's probably done. As the comedian said earlier this year:
"When I think of retirement, all I would think of is going to a baseball game every day."
