Five gifts the Royals should give Eric Hosmer for his 25th birthday on the day of Game 3

5 birthday gifts the Royals should give Eric Hosmer

Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer turns 25 years old Friday, just as the Royals and Giants get set for Game 3 of the World Series. And while he isn't the youngest Royal, a 25th birthday is a pretty big deal.

To celebrate the 2014 Gold Glove nominee being on this Earth for 25 years, we have a few suggestions for gifts his teammates could give him tonight:

Country breakfast in bed from Billy Butler

If there's one man on the Royals roster who knows breakfast, it's Butler. We don't know about you, but we'd certainly want to wake up in bed on our 25th birthdays to a breakfast prepared by Butler himself -- even if it's just a lot of sausage and bacon. And we think Hosmer would too.

A reimbursement of his tab during the Royals' ALDS sweep party:

After the Royals swept the Angels in the ALDS, the Royals -- spearheaded by Hosmer -- celebrated with their fans at McFadden's bar in Kansas City. There, in the midst of champagne and revelry, Hosmer picked up a bar tab to the tune of $3,000. It was a stand-up move and we're pretty sure Hosmer wouldn't dream of asking for any of it back -- but for his 25th birthday, why not reimburse the young lad? It's the thought that counts.

Runners on base for him to drive in

Hosmer doesn't have himself a hit yet in the World Series (he's walked twice, though), but he was a machine earlier this postseason. Batting .448 with seven RBIs, you just know Hosmer is hankering for his teammates to get on base so he can bring them home. So why not let the newly reshuffled Royals line-up give him what he wants?

A burrito from La Tacqueria

We're not quite sure if this counts as fraternizing with the enemy or not, but how can you turn down America's finest burrito (literally, ranked) when you're in San Francisco? Would make an excellent pre-game meal, we think.

A win -- or three -- in San Francisco

Three wins and it's over -- no sweat right? This is the team that won eight straight this postseason. But if they can't take all three in San Fran, the Royals need at least one to send the series back to Kauffman Stadium. Send Hosmer back to KC either a World Series champ, or with the chance to become one. That's the least you can do, Royals.
