Former roommates -- always rivals – reunite at Turner Field

In a scene straight out of their old college dorm room, Marshall was talking smack to Josh outside of Turner Field early Friday afternoon.

"I've been telling him we're here to see history tonight," the Iowa native said. "It's Chipper's last game in the Majors, so it's gonna be a good time."

Josh, wearing a vintage Hank Aaron jersey that Marshall gave him as a groomsman's gift, just shook his head.

"The Cardinals shouldn't even be in the playoffs right now. He should still be sitting on his couch."

But thanks to this season's new postseason format, Marshall is here in Atlanta. And after sweating out the Cardinals' final few games -- he booked a flight 10 days ago hoping for a St. Louis-Atlanta matchup – the Iowa native was even willing to let his former roommate get the last pregame word.

"It's an intense atmosphere for a baseball game," Josh said. "But it's always a tough way to end the season if you go 162 games and you have a better record [pointing at Marshall] than the team you end up playing in the playoffs."
