Former Rutgers football player Eric LeGrand visits Citi Field
Former Rutgers defensive tackle Eric LeGrand crossed over the New York state line to watch the Mets take on the Rockies on Wednesday night.
LeGrand was primed for a pro football career before an injury in 2010 left him paralyzed from the neck down.Since the injury, he has started to gain movement throughout his upper body.
The former college football star was more than happy to discuss his first love, baseball.
"I was a baller, you know," said LeGrand, who started playing baseball at the age of five and idolized Bernie Williams.
