Freddie Freeman shows off quick reaction time, snags foul from on-deck circle
Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman can do a lot on the diamond. He can hit for average (lifetime .286 hitter). He can hit for power (three straight 20 home run seasons and on-pace for a fourth). He's clutch (8-for-20 in the playoffs). And he's got some impressive instincts, which he showed off from the on-deck circle on Monday.
The Braves were hosting the Marlins and led 1-0 in the third when Freeman entered the on-deck circle as Tommy La Stella faces Miami's Tom Koehler. When La Stella fouled a pitch sharply off the ground, it bounced toward the backstop where Freeman made a leaping, one-handed grab.
So quick. So graceful. We're guessing he's a force to be reckoned with when it comes to clubhouse ping-pong.
