Fun Fact: Vin Scully was once a dishwasher
If you're under the age of 60, you probably don't remember a time when Vin Scully wasn't calling Dodgers games. It's weird, then, to think of him doing anything else. But much like the rest of us, Mr. Scully dabbled in various jobs before settling on a long-term career.
In an interview with NBC4's Fred Roggin, Scully spoke about his first job: washing dishes in the Silver Room at the Pennsylvania Hotel in New York. Scully says it was a blessing to start out in such an unglamorous position because now, no matter what he's doing, "it's not as bad as the Silver Room."
