Let's get acquainted with rookie Royals flamethrower Yordano 'Ace' Ventura

You may remember Royals rookie Yordano Ventura from a three-start September cameo in which he whiffed 11 and allowed six earned runs over 15 1/3 innings. Missed Kansas City's stretch run? No worries, you're going to see a lot more of Ventura very soon.

MLB.com's No. 35 prospect has impressed with a 1.77 ERA and 18 strikeouts in four starts this spring and will likely begin the season as Ned Yost's fifth starter. Let's get to know him a little better ...

Ventura's fastball hovers in the 97-102 mph range:

And he balances that gas with a devastating curveball:

Ventura seems to be taking to his teammates' veteran mentorship this spring, even using Jeremy Guthrie's glove at times. Guts won 15 games last year and is a pretty cool guy:
