10 key moments from Wednesday's Cardinals-Red Sox World Series Game 6

After a victory in Game 5 in St. Louis put them up 3-2 in the World Series, the Red Sox returned home to Fenway ready to clinch. The Cards weren't going to go quietly -- but in the end, the Sox and their boistrous home crowd was too much for them. Boston is your 2013 World Series champion, and let's hit up the GIFs one last time to see how it happened:

Before the game, there was a double ceremonial first pitch from Carlton Fisk and Luis Tiant. Fisk was doing the #GetBeard thing:

And the David Ortiz sign atop the Green Monster was raring to go:

In the bottom of the first, Dustin Pedroia came close to having a Carlton Fisk moment of his own. He drove one right down the left-field line and even briefly tried to wave it fair. But unlike Fisk's classic home run in Game 6 of the '75 Series, this one was destined to be foul:

And as it turned out, the Sox wouldn't need that run anyway. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the third, Shane Victorino drilled a triple off the Green Monster. I'd agree that's grounds for a chest bump or two:

And Boston wasn't done there. Stephen Drew, who entered the game hitting .080 in the postseason thus far, cracked a solo shot in fourth:

After RBI singles from Mike Napoli and Victorino, the Cardinals were down 6-0. They threatened in the seventh, getting a run on a Carlos Beltran RBI single that found its way through a left side of the infield that was, thanks to a shift, deserted:

But that one run was all St. Louis would get. Koji Uehara struck out Matt Carpenter to clinch Boston's third World Series championship in 10 seasons:

And the celebration was on:

That included the bullpen, and yes, Bullpen Cop:

And Series MVP David Ortiz made it flag-wavingly clear that the Red Sox are on top of the baseball world:

Congratulations to the Red Sox on an incredible season! Enjoy it Sox fans -- and if you're a fan of another team, you can officially start dreaming about this being you next year.
