Let's celebrate Carlos Correa's AL Rookie of the Year win with some glorious GIFs

A GIF dedication to AL ROY Carlos Correa

When Carlos Correa got called up to the big leagues on June 7, you may not have known much about him. Perhaps you heard whispers of his stadium-clearing power, his above-average SAT score or figured he would use "Maria, Maria" as his walk-up song because it kind of sounds like his last name (it's unfortunately pronounced differently).

But now, he's a household name, and on Monday night, he was named the BBWA American League Rooke of the Year while waiting by with his family. (Kris Bryant won the award for the NL side)

How did he do it? Here's a recap of some of his best moments below.

First home run

In just his second game of the season, Correa hit his first career home run -- and it was an absolute moonshot. The 21-year-old would go on to hit 22 long balls in just 99 games and lead all qualified rookies with a .512 slugging percentage:

You can't beat the shift on him

The Astros' infield was shifting against the Rockies' Ben Paulsen during a game on June 16. Paulsen scoffed at the alignment, sending a liner up the middle-left side to beat the shift. Correa scoffed back:

Man of Steal

Correa was third among AL rookies in steals with 14, behind Delino DeShields and Billy Burns who played 22 and 26 more games than him, respectively. He also became the second-youngest player in 100 years to steal three bags in one game during a June 18 contest against the Rockies.

Gravity stands no chance

The Mariners' Mike Zunino also thought he had a hit during a game against the Astros on June 21. As you can see below, Mike Zunino did not have a hit:

A walk-off to remember

No, this isn't a sequel to Mandy Moore's classic film, this is Correa's first walk-off hit during a game against the Rays in August. Reliever Matt Andriese had the option of walking him, but instead he pitched to him in a 2-2 game and ...

Correa also slashed at a .290/.320/.583 rate with two homers and four RBIs in his first postseason, those two dingers coming in just one game.

Congrats to you, young Carlos. We look forward to all that comes next.
