Girl gets foul ball, gives it to a boy in her section
The quickest way to a boy's heart is with a Victor Martinez foul ball, apparently. A young girl was lucky enough to come into possession of a foul ball off Martinez's bat during Saturday night's Twins-Tigers game.
Martinez lined the ball into foul territory down the right-field line, and the ballboy scooped it up and sent it into the crowd, where 10-year-old Ashley Bisby got a hold of it. She promptly turned around and gave it to Ryan Rundle, the 11-year-old boy sitting behind her, and you can basically see his heart fall out of his chest:
Bisby and Rundle later spoke with MLB.com Real-Time Correspondent Mark Pierce, and Bisby explained that her little brother had already gotten a foul ball, so she wanted to give this one away. Rundle still seemed genuinely shocked by her generosity.
Seriously, how adorable are these two? Who knows ... maybe my great-great grandchildren will get to write about their 65th wedding anniversary at a Tigers game in 2090 or something. (Justin Verlander will probably still be hitting 99 on the gun.)
