Gold medalist Bryan brothers throw out first pitch at Citi Field, meet Mr. Met
A couple more Olympic gold medalists stopped by Citi Field on Sunday afternoon.
Three days after Gabby Douglas fired a strike in Queens, tennis stars Bob and Mike Bryan threw out first pitches, spoke with players and posed with the No. 1 mascot in sports before the Mets took on the Astros. The twins won gold for men's doubles during the 2012 London Games.
"You get a little jittery cause you don't know how you're gonna throw it," Mike said. "But we're pretty happy with how it went. We threw two strikes."
The brothers are one of the premier tennis tandems in the world, and will try to build on their recent success at this week’s U.S. Open.
