Hank Azaria has Moe the bartender, Apu and Chief Wiggum call the Mets' greatest highlights
Hank Azaria voices dozens of characters on "The Simpsons." He's also a fervent Mets fan. So, when he stopped by MLB Central to talk baseball, there was no way he wouldn't re-call some of the most memorable moments in Mets history as his most iconic characters.
Here's Moe the bartender on Mookie Wilson's grounder past Bill Buckner in Game 6 of the 1986 World Series:
"Here comes Mookie. Ah, game's over, down the -- oh, it gets through Buckner's legs! And the game is not over, and the Mets win. But somehow, they're gonna blow it somehow anyway. Even though they actually won. Still, they'll find a time machine, go back in time and erase that World Series victory."
And Apu (noted fan of the "Ny" Mets baseball squadron) on Endy Chavez's leaping catch in Game 7 of the 2006 National League Championship Series:
"And there it is hit so strongly to left field, and Endy reaches up and grabs it! And you would think this would mean for sure that they are the team of destiny. But no, Beltran's going to look at a pitch and it's all going to end miserably."
