Hank the Wonder Dog is nominated for Dog of the Year

Hank the Wonder Dog is nominated for Dog of the Year

While there are thousands of awards out there, from the Ig Nobel Prize given to strange science research to the Rotten Sneaker Award, given out to the child with the stinkiest pair of shoes, it is pretty much understood that these are the three most prestigious of them:

1. MVP

2. Nobel Peace Prize

3. Dog of the Year

And while Hank, the Brewers' Wonder Dog, was bypassed for the MVP and the Nobel (despite his essay: "Petting me is more fun than fighting"), he has been nominated for Dog of the Year.

It won't be an easy victory, though. Hank is going up against the best and brightest of the dog world. Hank has to beat Duke, the honest-to-god mayor of Cormorant, Minn.,Wacha (not the Cardinals pitcher), a social media wizard with over 100,000 Instagram followers, Sky, who won the prestigious Westminster Kennel Club dog show and Peanut, who survived a serious fire as a puppy and now brings awareness to animal abuse.

While all of those dogs can make a decent case, can they really stack up against a dog who is such a convincing hot dog?
