Happy 36th birthday to Chase Utley!
Happy 36th birthday Chase Utley!

Phillies fans have been doodling Chase Utley's name on their Trapper-Keepers for a full decade, now. It's not difficult to see why: Since making his Major League debut in 2003 -- at Philly's old Veterans Stadium -- Utley has managed to accumulate a 61.5 WAR while maintaining a .285 average, making six All-Star appearances, winning four Silver Sluggers and helping the Phils win their first World Series since 1980.
Oh, and in his spare time he keeps busy by surprising fans battling cancer, trying to find homes for animals in need and filming cameos for beloved, critically acclaimed situational comedies.
Today, Utley turns 36 years old. To celebrate, let's take a look at some of his best moments in recent years while crossing our fingers that he'll able to give fans a few more seasons of quality baseball before officially announcing his candidacy for mayor of Philadelphia (he'll run uncontested because no one will want to be the person who ran against "The Man").
Utley once performed a magic trick at Wrigley Field, hitting a triple and turning one baseball into two:
Chase demonstrated more of that magic in 2014 when he used a floating bat to knock an RBI single into right field:

When he and the Phils were visiting the Nationals, Utley hilariously trolled former teammate Kevin Frandsen on the basepaths:

Utley started the 2014 All-Star Game because of course he did. He went 1-for-1 with an RBI double and -- obviously -- was hit by a pitch.
He also starred in a July photoshoot with his son, Ben, and his pit bull, Jack. This is the definition of "awww."
